Homemade Fall Syrups
Pumpkin Spice Syrup
Ingredients:
1 & 1⁄2 cups of water
1 cup of cane sugar
1⁄2 cup of brown or coconut sugar
2 tsp of pumpkin spice (I get my blend from Trader Joe’s)
1⁄4 cup of pumpkin puree
2 cinnamon sticks
Recipe:
Add the water, cane sugar, brown or coconut sugar, pumpkin spice blend, pumpkin puree, and cinnamon sticks to a saucepan.
Stir together and bring to a simmer over low heat.
Let this simmer for 5 minutes, stirring every minute or so.
Turn off the heat and let cool completely before transferring to a pour spout container and store in the fridge.
Apple Cider Caramel Syrup
Ingredients:
2 cups of apple cider
1 cup of cane sugar
1/2 cup of brown or coconut sugar
1/4 cup of heavy cream
2 tsp of vanilla
2 tbsp of cold butter
Recipe:
Bring the apple cider to a simmer over low heat in a saucepan. Let this simmer for 35 minutes—this will reduce it and it should be about 1 & 1/2 cups left.
Then, stir in the cane sugar and brown or coconut sugar until fully dissolved.
Then, stir in the heavy cream, vanilla, and cold butter.
Stir together and bring to a simmer again over low heat.
Let this simmer for 5 minutes, stirring every minute or so.
Turn off the heat and let cool completely before transferring it to a pour spout container and storing in the fridge.
Note: this one will separate slightly in the fridge, just shake or stir before enjoying!
