Homemade Fall Syrups

Pumpkin Spice Syrup

Ingredients:

  • 1 & 1⁄2 cups of water

  • 1 cup of cane sugar

  • 1⁄2 cup of brown or coconut sugar

  • 2 tsp of pumpkin spice (I get my blend from Trader Joe’s)

  • 1⁄4 cup of pumpkin puree

  • 2 cinnamon sticks

Recipe:

  • Add the water, cane sugar, brown or coconut sugar, pumpkin spice blend, pumpkin puree, and cinnamon sticks to a saucepan.

  • Stir together and bring to a simmer over low heat.

  • Let this simmer for 5 minutes, stirring every minute or so.

  • Turn off the heat and let cool completely before transferring to a pour spout container and store in the fridge.

Apple Cider Caramel Syrup

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of apple cider

  • 1 cup of cane sugar

  • 1/2 cup of brown or coconut sugar

  • 1/4 cup of heavy cream

  • 2 tsp of vanilla

  • 2 tbsp of cold butter

Recipe:

  • Bring the apple cider to a simmer over low heat in a saucepan. Let this simmer for 35 minutes—this will reduce it and it should be about 1 & 1/2 cups left.

  • Then, stir in the cane sugar and brown or coconut sugar until fully dissolved.

  • Then, stir in the heavy cream, vanilla, and cold butter.

  • Stir together and bring to a simmer again over low heat.

  • Let this simmer for 5 minutes, stirring every minute or so.

  • Turn off the heat and let cool completely before transferring it to a pour spout container and storing in the fridge.

Note: this one will separate slightly in the fridge, just shake or stir before enjoying!
