Salted Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2 egg yolks

  • 1/3 cup cane sugar

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup browned butter (cooled until warm)

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1/3 cup sourdough discard

  • 1 & 1/4 cup all purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cups dark chocolate chips

Recipe:

  • Preheat your oven to 350F. 

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, cane sugar, brown sugar, browned butter, vanilla, and sourdough discard until smooth. 

  • Mix in the all purpose flour, baking powder, and salt until a dough forms. 

  • Fold in the dark chocolate chips. 

  • Transfer to a parchment paper lined baking sheet using a large cookie scoop (or about 3 tbsp at a time) Top with more dark chocolate chunks and then transfer to the oven for 12 minutes. 

  • Transfer the baking sheet to a wire rack to cool and top with flaky salt!
