Auntie Anne’s Style Pretzel Dogs
Ingredients
1 cup warm water
1 tsp yeast
1 tsp sugar
1 3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
pack of hot dogs
butter, melted
dash of flaky salt
baking soda water bath:
1 cup warm water
1 tbsp of baking soda
easy cheese dip:
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp flour
1 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar
3 slices American cheese
1/4 tsp salt
Recipe:
Preheat your oven to 425F
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together warm water, yeast, and sugar
Mix in flour and salt until a dough forms. Knead until smooth
Cover the mixing bowl with a towel and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size
Once the dough has risen, divide into 6 pieces. Roll them into about 10 inch logs and flatten. Then, place the end of a hot dog at the end of the log and roll it up
After repeating this process with the rest of the dough & hot dogs, dip them in a baking soda water bath. Transfer the pretzel dogs to a parchment paper lined baking sheet
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown
Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with flaky salt
Easy Cheese Dip Recipe
To make the cheese dip, melt the butter in a sauce pan on low heat. Whisk in flour until a paste forms
Whisk in milk and cook for about 1-2 minutes, or until it starts to thicken
Turn off the heat and whisk in the cheeses and salt. Serve warm and enjoy!
