Auntie Anne’s Style Pretzel Dogs

 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water

  • 1 tsp yeast

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1 3/4 cup flour

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • pack of hot dogs

  • butter, melted

  • dash of flaky salt

baking soda water bath:

  • 1 cup warm water

  • 1 tbsp of baking soda

easy cheese dip:

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1 tbsp flour

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar

  • 3 slices American cheese

  • 1/4 tsp salt

Recipe:

  • Preheat your oven to 425F

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together warm water, yeast, and sugar

  • Mix in flour and salt until a dough forms. Knead until smooth

  • Cover the mixing bowl with a towel and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size

  • Once the dough has risen, divide into 6 pieces. Roll them into about 10 inch logs and flatten. Then, place the end of a hot dog at the end of the log and roll it up

  • After repeating this process with the rest of the dough & hot dogs, dip them in a baking soda water bath. Transfer the pretzel dogs to a parchment paper lined baking sheet

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown

  • Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with flaky salt

    Easy Cheese Dip Recipe

  • To make the cheese dip, melt the butter in a sauce pan on low heat. Whisk in flour until a paste forms

  • Whisk in milk and cook for about 1-2 minutes, or until it starts to thicken

  • Turn off the heat and whisk in the cheeses and salt. Serve warm and enjoy!
