Chai Concentrate

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of water

  • 4 tbsp coconut sugar (or sweetener of choice)

  • 4 cinnamon sticks

  • ½ piece of fresh ginger

  • 3 star anise

  • 1 tsp cloves

  • 1 tbsp cardamom

Recipe:

  • Add water, coconut sugar, cinnamon sticks, ginger, star anise, cloves, and cardamom to a saucepan.

  • Bring to a boil over low-medium heat. Let simmer for 5 minutes, stirring every so often.

  • Turn off the heat and let the pan sit covered for 20 minutes

  • Strain and transfer the liquid to a mason jar. Add four black tea bags and let steep at room temperature

  • Once cooled, remove the tea bags and store the concentrate in the fridge for up to 2 weeks!
