Thanksgiving Mule

Ingredients:

spiced cranberry syrup

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup frozen cranberries

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 1 sprig rosemary

  • ice

  • 1 oz spiced cranberry syrup

  • 1 oz apple cider

  • 1 oz blood orange juice

  • 1.5 oz vodka

  • ginger beer

Recipe:

For the spiced cranberry syrup:

  • In a saucepan, stir together the water, sugar, frozen cranberries, cinnamon stick, and sprig of rosemary, over low-medium heat. Combine and bring to a boil.

  • Once the mixture is boiling, stir and turn the heat to low. Cover and the simmer for 5 minutes.

  • Once done simmering, turn the heat off, keep covered and let the mixture completely cool before straining and transferring to a container.

For the mule:

  • Fill a mule cup with ice and pour in the spiced cranberry syrup, apple cider, blood orange juice, and vodka.

  • Fill to the top with ginger beer, stir, and enjoy!

For the batch recipe:

  • In a pitcher, stir together 1 cup of the spiced cranberry syrup, 1 cup apple cider, 2/3 cup of blood orange juice (could substitute with lime juice), 1 1/2 cups of vodka, and 3 cups of ginger beer.

  • Optional: add frozen cranberries, sliced apples, and cinnamon sticks for garnish.
